What is being used at the sites is desk-top ‘click-to-meet’ system which not only transmits video and voice but also data.
At the ‘Clinic’ area The whole clinic activities have been computerized from ‘womb to tomb”. The pregnant mother’s health, her delivery and the child that is delivered are well captured. The infant to toddler groups, the school health activities, screening and health appraisal for adolescent, adult and geriatrics have been built in. This is the “wellness component”. Information for those who are ill is also addressed and their management from physical findings, lab test, prescription and counseling are also captured. The so called seamless care across ages has been catered here as well as the various episodes they may be subjected too, whether when they are well or ill. Data that have been captured through the clinic are closest representative of the population although not the best. These are powerful material for ‘population and individual health risk-intervention modeling’ that help in future appropriate case management, besides the routine operational and strategic planning that the MOH consistently is subjected too.
At the ‘Registration’ counter TPC attempts to avoid duplication of registration. A child with Mykid and an adult with Mykad can register into the system and subsequently only need them to track their records anywhere within the TPC set-up whether in Johor or Sarawak, the current pilot sites, or anywhere where TPC has been installed. Integration Besides integrating with Mykad and Mykid, TPC also attempts to integrate with Smart-school software in particular the students’ information so that school health services can benefit from easy downloading of students’ information for the students’ health appraisal. In return TPC will share with smart school the child’s immunization status (amongst others) for entry registration to school. While TPC can benefit from the Hrmis project on sharing of the Personnel information to facilitate rostering, leave, for now we will start with Gurantee letter for personnel use in the TPC network.
Much of the aspirations have been accomplished by TPC, amongst others; facilitating seamless care from womb to tomb and borderless care between clinics and hospitals. TPCIS also allows participating clinic and hospital data be analyzed by MOH Headquarters, for real-time strategic planning.
